Dance II Combo (ages 7 and 9):

Dancers in Dance II Combo will enjoy an interactive class that builds on movements learned in Dance I classes but which are still appropriate for first time dancers.

The 60 minute Jazz/Hip Hop portion of the class includes an introduction to proper warm-ups and stretches for the body combined with across-the-floor progressions and mini combinations.

The 30 minute Tap portion of the class will concentrate on building the dancer's confidence through mastering more difficult patterns and steps, teaching the dancer how to articulate the feet, shift and place weight properly and continuing to develop rhythm and coordination.

This class does NOT have a ballet component.  Students in this class who wish to continue with a more intense approach to their technical training and plan on possibly pursuing our intermediate and advanced level classes in the future, are encouraged to also sign up for the Ballet I class.*

PreJazz/Hip Hop (Ages 6-8): This 60 minute class combines basic hip-hop and jazz technique and choreograph. In this fast-paced and fun class students will use hip hop and jazz to develop their coordination, rhythm, flexibility and self-expression.

Ballet I, II, III (Ages 7 & Up)

These 60 minute classes begins at the barre with proper exercises to develop strength, balance and flexibility. The dancers then advance to the center floor to perform adagio (slow) and allegro (fast) movements. Center floor combinations, across the floor combinations and turns and leaps are covered in each lesson.

*BALLET is always known as the true foundation for any dance discipline and is essential to a dancer's progress. Through the discipline of ballet technique students improve in grace, strength, coordination, flexibility and fluidity. Next Stage students ages 11 and up who wish to take Intermediate and Advanced level jazz and modern classes at our studio are required to also take ballet. Recreational students who take class only once a week will enjoy the benefits of the art form. Dedicated students who wish to advance to the company level are anxious to take several classes per week once they realize the beautiful technique that is being developed. After progressing in ballet levels, students may be recommended by their teacher to study Pointe. Junior and Senior Company dancers are required to take two ballet classes per week, in addition to Pointe class.

Jazz II & III(Ages 8 & Up):

These 60 minute classes focuses on increasing strength and flexibility while continuing to develop proper technique. Students also gain a sense of musicality, learn jazz vocabulary and develop artistry and performance skills.
