Creative Movement (Ages 2.5-4)

  This 45-minute lesson is an introduction to the magical world of dance and tumbling. Basic dance principles are introduced in a playful, creative manner while ensuring proper skill development for future training. All exercises and music selections are age and skill appropriate.

Ballet/Tap/Tumble (Ages 3-6)

Designed especially for young dancers with or without previous training. The 60 minute lesson is an introduction to the magical world of ballet, tap, and tumbling. Basic dance principles are introduced in a playful, creative manner while ensuring proper skill development for future training. All exercises and music selections are age and skill appropriate. Student must be potty trained.

Dance Combo (Ages 6+)

Designed for students who are looking for a condensed dance experience in multiple styles, our combo classes will include beginner level techniques in jazz, modern and tap.


This class does NOT have a ballet component. 

Technique Classes

Recommended Age: 7 and up 

Our beginning levels are intended to give dancers an introduction to technique in specific styles of dance. Dancers with no previous experience, or 1-2 years of experience are recommended for this level. Students will build a solid base of technique before moving on to intermediate courses.

Our intermediate levels are appropriate for students who have built a solid foundation of technique at the beginning level and are ready to explore more complex movement in a particular style. 

Advanced Level

  Recommended Age: 13 and up

Our advanced levels are for dancers who have excelled in the intermediate level and are ready to hone their technique. Dancers will be challenged beyond simply mastering dance steps, and pushed to explore musicality, expression and creativity.

Ballet

  These 60-90  minute classes begin at the barre with proper exercises to develop strength, balance and flexibility. The dancers then advance to the center floor to perform adagio (slow) and allegro (fast) movements. Center floor combinations, across the floor combinations and turns and leaps are covered in each lesson. Students will learn ballet technique, as well as proper ballet terminology.

This class focuses on  pointe preparedness. Lessons target the core fundamentals necessary to  begin pointe training. Exercises focus on the  development of physical  strength and technical skills. Students receive individualized  evaluations and guidance for beginning pointe work in a safe manner.  This is a two year class for all students who follow typical  progression. Each student will receive individual evaluation and approval as well as  guidance towards when and how to purchase, sew and wear pointe shoes.

  Students who have completed our Intro to Pointe program, may be invited to advance to our Pointe classes. Students will learn to complete their ballet technique while en pointe. Classes will include barre work and center work, with a focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. More advanced students will learn complex combinations and classical variations. Students enrolled in pointe class are required to take at least two ballet technique classes a week.

     An exploration of jazz style, technique and presentation. Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization as well as fun and innovative choreography. This class includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations and across-the-floor progressions.

  Modern technique includes the concepts of suspension and release, fall and recovery, the use of momentum and connecting breath with movement. Dancers will explore new ways of moving in combinations, floor work and partnering, and also in various methods of improvisation.


Tap

   Tap classes are fun and upbeat and allow the dancer to develop their coordination, balance and rhythm. Students will learn both rhythm tap (focuses more on music and rhythms) and Broadway tap (focuses more on dance), as well as musicality and timing.

Hip Hop

  Hip Hop incorporates a variety of old and new urban dance styles. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music. Hip hop dancing is very dynamic and helps dancers develop body balance, rhythm, musicality and coordination

Our acro classes are designed to supplement dance curriculum, use strength and flexibility to teach gymnastic-based  skills and tricks. In this class, students perform conditioning exercises to  prepare them for increased difficulty.  It teaches flexibility, balance,  strength, and coordination. These classes  focus on safety, beginning and finishing positions and proper body, foot, and leg positions. Forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, bridges, cartwheels and  round-offs and more are set goals the students are expected to master in our acro classes.

For our most advanced dancers. This class will teach high-level, specialized leaps and turns. Students will have the time to focus on perfecting each individual skill.

Lyrical/Choreography Composition

  Lyrical is an expressive style of dance that allows the dancer to interpret and express the emotions, lyrics and story associated with a piece of music. Lyrical combines the technical components of ballet with the freedom and fluidity of jazz. This class includes a proper warm-up, stretches, and combinations across the floor and in center. Students will also learn the basic elements of dance creation and have a chance to produce their own choreography.

This class is an introduction to the Musical Theatre genre, incorporating elements of ballet, jazz and modern.  This class will provide young students the opportunity to  explore acting exercises also. Students will learn combinations from  current and classic musicals. 

A Note on Ballet...

BALLET is the true foundation for all dance disciplines and is  essential to a dancer's progress. Through the discipline of ballet  technique students improve in grace, strength, coordination, flexibility  and fluidity. Ballet is HIGHLY recommended for students in higher level classes in other disciplines.
